It is one of the most eagerly-awaited appointments of the year, by young designers and not only: the CFDA prize-giving ceremony was held at the Alice Tully Hall in New York awarding the more deserving, innovative, talented fashion designers. With many surprises and as many confirmations: Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were awarded as Womenswear Designers of the Years thanks to their clothing line The Row, while Billy Reid triumphed in the menswear category. The king of accessories for 2012 was Reed Krakoff, while the Swarovski awards for emerging talents went to Phillip Lim (menswear); Joseph Altuzarra (womenswear); Tabitha Simmons (accessories). Tommy Hilfiger received an award celebrating his unrivalled career while Johnny Depp grabbed the Fashion Icon Award. The event was attended by Vogue America Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, Lily Collins, Nadja Swarovski, Candice Swanepoel, Dakota Fanning, Heather Graham, Jessica Stam, Kate Bosworth, Karolina Kurkova and Rachel Zoe.
