This week Vogue France celebrates the last creation of Roberto Coin, the famous Italian jeweler: the black octopus ring.
The designer, already famous for his funny animals jewels, has now created a sapphire and black diamond octopus perched on a 18 karat pink gold ring. He has been known to draw on the Chinese new year, favorite animals and even media events for inspiration, and in the case of this piece, it's German octopus Paul, who hit the headlines during the 2010 FIFA World Cup when he began "predicting" the outcome of matches who provided the push the Italian jewelry designer needed to create this sapphire and black diamond-encrusted cephalopod. Funny and chic at the same time!!
